Wifi security II
Friday in class we talked about WIFI security.
Here are my notes
WEP: It’s the less secure
It’s the most popular
WPA: It’s more secure than WEP but less than WPA2
It’s the system that replaced WEP
It has an intermediate security and it was a temporally
solution.
There are two types: TKIP and PSK
WPA2: It’s the most secure, but it has vulnerability. There are two types PSK and AES

Wifi Security I
Hi! Last friday, in class we talk about Wifi security:
There are some protocols:
802.11b with 11 Mbits/s of speed
802.11g with 54 Mbits/s of speed
802.11n with 600 Mbits/s of speed
802.11ac with 1000 Mbits/s of speed
What do we need to connect to Internet through WIFI?
With a wireless NIC, AP and a router.
The SSID is the name of the WIFI
There are some types of Wifi security:
WEP/WPA/WPA2

Confidentially
Today in class we talked about confidentially. Here are the notes that I've taked
Confidentiality = privacy
It’s only visible for the people that have autoritation.
Cryptography: It’s the set of techniques that allows you to encrypt data.
How to have it: With cryptography
Encrypt: Modify to do it unreadeable
To encrypt you need:
Algorithm: They are a set of steps to do cryptography.
We need a key(clave), numbers.
Digital certificate
Decrypt: Recover the original way
I'll return to write Cortana's jokes, here are today's joke:

A boy approaches a man: "I want to tell him that I'm in love with his daughter, and it's not for the money." The man asks, "Which of the four?" "Ah well ... of anyone."

Hi! Here is the guide of my video:
Sniffing: It's a way to get into the network wire and see all what you are doing and all the information.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpF7LhMXu5I In this video you can see how to Chema Alonso do it at the begining of the video.
How to avoid: Using http; With programs that indicate if they are sniffing you or with encrypting data.
Bye

Hi! Today in class we talked about security.
So, what we should protect in our computer?
Well, when we think about what protect the first thing that we think is information, files, in general DATA.
But we also need to protect hardware, networks and Yourself.
From today, at the end of the posts, I'll write a joke that "Cortana"(it's like SIRI in Iphones, but in windows 10) says. Well today's joke is:
What does a stone say to another stone? "Life is hard."
Bye byee

For example this is how long it would take to crack the first password.
It is a process that involves two authentication methods performed one after the other to verify that someone or something requesting access is who or what they are declared to be.
Today we talked about passwords and here are some activities.
1. Think about 5 services you use with a password.
Instgram, Gmail, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook.
2. 6 recommendations to create secure password.
It must have 8 characters
It can't be your name, some of your family or your job.
It can't be anything like your DNI
Do not use words from any dictionary
Don't use followed keys in the keyboard
It must have a capital letter, lowercase letter, a number and a special character.
3. What is a password manager? Adventages and disadvantages.
A password manager is a software application that helps a user store and organize passwords.
Advantages: You need to remember just one password, the master password and no more.
Disadvantages: If someone hack that password, he have access to ALL your passwords.
The next day of class I'll finish this activities.
